CaroleKing.com has set up a page for the upcoming autobiography A Natural Woman: A Memoir written by Carole King herself. The page includes links to pre-order the book at Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble. The book will be released in hardcover, ebook and audiobook editions on April 10 by Grand Central Publishing, a division of Hachette Books.
The site also includes an excerpt of the book recounting the story of producer Jerry Wexler asking Carole King and her writing partner and then-husband Gerry Goffin to write a song for Aretha Franklin called “Natural Woman,” which of course led to the big hit “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman,” a top 10 hit for Aretha in 1967. Carole recorded her own version for the historic Tapestry (1971).
Visitors can also put in their email address to receive a link to download a PDF of a 4-page excerpt detailing a stressful pre-show experience during the 2005 Living Room Tour.
