Carole King and Beyoncé will be joining Oprah Winfrey, Beninese singer Angélique Kidjo, and rock group Alabama Shakes in the line-up for the annual Black Ball event put on by Alicia Keys to support her charity Keep a Child Alive, according to the Associated Press. Whoopi Goldberg will host. The event will take place on November 1st at New York’s Hammerstein Ballroom.
In a statement, Alicia Keys, who will also perform at the event, said of Carole King that she “blazed the trail for women in the music industry”.
Keep a Child Alive helps those affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa and India.
