Following his two performances at the Democratic National Convention next week, James Taylor will be heading out on behalf of President Barack Obama to at least two private fundraisers.
First he’s heading to Chicago for a September 10th private performance at the home of Penny Pritzker and Bryan Traubert, according to Crain’s Chicago Business. (Of course, they also say that James Taylor’s 1981 album Dad Loves His Work is from the ’70s, so I can’t really believe a word they publish.) Pritzker headed President Barack Obama’s finance team during his first campaign four years ago. Traubert is a civic leader and board president of the Chicago Park District. The event is invitation-only but rumor has it that a $15,000 donation to the current Obama campaign gets you two tickets.
Then he’ll do another private fundraiser on September 14th in Parkland, Florida, at the home of Anne and Andrew Weinstein, according to the Sun-Sentinel. The Weinsteins are prominent fundraisers. Tickets are priced at the much more affordable $2,500 each. Unless you’d also like dinner and conversation with James Taylor, that will cost $10,000 per person.
I’ve already bought four tickets per show. See you there!
