InSound likes Joni Mitchell and Blue

InSound.com‘s weekly Stuff We Like column focused on Joni Mitchell and her album Blue last week. It’s interesting to see how the author initially couldn’t appreciate the album as a teenager growing up the days of Tori Amos’ height.

But, as it turns out, “A Case of You” got me hooked on Joni Mitchell that day, even if I didn’t know it at the time. I gradually started collecting more and more of her music – discovering a new “favorite” song pretty much monthly. Blue, however, remains my favorite record of hers. The emotions, expressed delicately, to perfection. The decadent melodies. The gorgeously visual lyrics. That voice. I don’t give out 10s, but this record gets a 9.9 in my book.
