MTV Hive traces history of Jackson Browne’s These Days

MTV Hive‘s Douglas Wolk examines the history of Jackson Browne‘s classic “These Days” (including covers by Nico, the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Gregg Allman, St. Vincent’s Annie Clark, and The Tallest Man on Earth), and how it’s weaved its way into songs by Dirty Projectors (“Two Doves”), Tim Buckley (“I’ve Been Out Walking”), Belle and Sebastian (“If You’re Feeling Sinister”), and Beth Orton (“Concrete Sky”). It makes for a fascinating read. Youtube videos are included.
