A man was tragically killed by a portion of a dead tree that fell on him immediately after a James Taylor concert in Tanglewood. Lester Holtzblatt, 61, and his wife were on the way to their car after the July 4th show.

The Taylors were deeply saddened by the news of the accidental death of concertgoer Lester Holtzblatt after the July 4th concert at Tanglewood. They extend their condolences to the Holtzblatt family and to his friends at this difficult time.

Dear brother of Janet Holtzblatt. Senior principal engineer, Mitre Corporation. Past president of Congregation Beth El of the Sudbury Valley, Past president of the MetroWest Free Medical Program. Loved nature, music, writing short stories, studying Torah, discussing politics, dancing with Karen, and the Red Sox. His goodness and love will be missed. Services at Congregation Beth El of the Sudbury Valley, 105 Hudson Road, Sudbury on Sunday, July 8 at 10:30am. Interment at Beit Olam East Cemetery, 42 Concord Road, Wayland. Family and friends are invited back to his late residence following the interment. Shiva Minyan Monday, July 9 and Wednesday, July 11 from 7-9pm at his late residence.
