Carole King to Induct Don Kirshner into Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Carole King will be the presenter for Don Kirshner’s induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the Sideman category for the 27th Annual Induction Ceremony on Saturday, April 14, in Cleveland, Ohio. He will receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award for Lifetime Achievement, which honors non-performing “songwriters, producers, disc jockeys, record executives, journalists and other industry professionals who have had a major influence on the development of rock and roll”.

Don Kirshner, who died January 17, 2011, was the co-founder of Aldon Music, which hired Carole King and Gerry Goffin as songwriters in the 1960s.
