JamesTaylor.com released the January/February issue of their “News from James Taylor” newsletter this morning.
For those eagerly awaiting James Taylor’s summer weekend at Tanglewood in late August, the Boston Symphony Orchestra has exclusive advance tickets for his concerts and workshops available at their website here. They’re only available for a very limited time, so don’t wait.
Also comes news of plans for expanded editions of Covers. On sale February 10 is the UK release of Covers, which includes “Shiver Me Timbers” (previously unreleased), “Oh, What A Beautiful Mornin'” and “Knock On Wood” (previously only available on the QVC exclusive bonus disc). And then, in another month or so:
JT fans will be glad to hear that he is planning a 7-song bonus CD and a 19-song digital deluxe release of Covers in time for the U.S. “Down Home Tour” (April/May 2009). These two releases will include all bonus material from the January 2008 Covers recording sessions.
I’ll post the track list once it is made available. Only one mystery remains: James Taylor has said in interviews that 20 songs were recorded during these sessions. So… what about the 20th song?
Finally, the newsletter includes pictures and an interview with crew member John Prince, who is James Taylor’s guitar technician during tours.
