James Taylor and Philadelphia Orchestra at Academy of Music’s 152nd Anniversary Concert

On Saturday, January 24, 2009, James Taylor will perform as a “special guest artist” with The Philadelphia Orchestra for the Academy of Music’s 152nd Anniversary Concert and Ball.

Christoph Eschenbach returns to conduct the Academy of Music Anniversary Concert—the region’s premier annual gala benefit—joined by singer/songwriter James Taylor and other special guests to celebrate the Grand Old Lady of Locust Street.

The concert was casually mentioned back in a November article from the Berkshire Eagle but was overshadowed by the news about James Taylor’s weekend of concerts and workshops at Tanglewood. No one really took note of it except J. Schil’s Blog here (scroll to the end of the post) and now here. James Taylor Online has also just posted info on the show.
