The Sound of Los Angeles

Good radio in Los Angeles is kind of hard to find, but a new station has popped up that is pretty dang good for readers of the Troubadour Tribune. KSWD 100.3 The Sound has a great mix and a great tendency to not play those songs that are overplayed. For those not in LA, you can listen online at www.thesoundla.com.

Of even more interest is the show called Peace, Love & Sunday Mornings hosted by Mimi Chen, which runs Sundays from 8 AM to noon. Mimi plays a lot of singer-songwriters and music from the “Laurel Canyon” days. Here’s a sampling of this morning’s playlist:

“A Case of You” and “Car on a Hill” by Joni Mitchell, “Rosie” and “Ready or Not” by Jackson Browne, “We Have No Secrets” by Carly Simon, “Sitting” by Cat Stevens, “Walking Man” by James Taylor, and “Will You Love Me Tomorrow” by Carole King.
