Variety.com reviews JD Souther’s show at Largo at the Caronet last night, which leads to the author reconsidering Souther’s career. and its relation to Jackson Browne as one of the major songwriters for the Eagles.
Curiously I found myself rethinking the Eagles and wondering if there’s a clear spot at which the stylistic torch was passed from Jackson Browne to Souther as the central outside influence on the band.
I hear the show at Largo and the show before that at McCabe’s in Santa Monica were both excellent! And his new album If the World Was You is certainly an exciting discovery. It’s good to have him back.
