Ocean Spray gets James Taylor to Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

SouthCoastToday.com has an article about the Massachusetts company Ocean Spray preparing their float for the 82nd Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, which will be broadcast live on Thursday morning starting at 9:00 AM (eastern). James Taylor will be riding the Ocean Spray float with his wife and their twin boys. The article includes an interview with Larry Martin, vice president of marketing for Ocean Spray, who talks about the inclusion of James Taylor:

“Macy’s asked me about talent and I wanted James Taylor. I’m a fan and he lives in the Berkshires.

“Macy’s said they asked him every year but this time he agreed to do it, maybe because we are a Massachusetts company.”

Mr. Martin said James Taylor, who will wrangle the woodland critters down Broadway before stopping at Herald Square to perform “America the Beautiful,” was a perfect choice for Ocean Spray.

“Everybody likes James Taylor, particularly our demographic group, moms in the 35- to 55-year-old bracket,” he said. “He’s an artist that can be enjoyed by the whole family.”

(Thanks, Bridget!)
