Taylor Swift the next Girl(s) Like Us?

El Paso Times has an article that basically reviews Sheila Weller’s book Girls Like Us: Carole King, Joni Mitchell – and the Journey of a Generation and offers country singer Taylor Swift as one of the latest in the tradition of these singer-songwriters.

Reading “Girls Like Us,” I came to realize that it’s an incredibly brave thing to put yourself in the spotlight and lay out your emotions for the world to see.

But it’s these voices that change us, that make us better people. It is through these emotions that many of us find solace and camaraderie in knowing that other people hurt and love and lose, too.
