Cat Stevens sampled for Girl Talk

The Courier-Journal reports that music by Cat Stevens is among the more than 100 songs sampled by “sonic clip artist” Gregg Gillis for his song “Feed the Animals”, part of his show Girl Talk.

The former biomedical engineer from Pittsburgh is also an outlaw. He doesn’t get permission or pay for the samples he uses, which is illegal, but no one has sued him — perhaps because he’s so audacious. “Feed the Animals” uses more than 100 samples in its first five songs, from Lil’ Wayne to Cat Stevens to Rod Stewart.
