The Sunday Paper posts a review of Jackson Browne’s new album Time The Conqueror, giving it 2.5 stars.
While there are many quality moments here, and Browne’s boyish voice remains distinctive, if subdued, these tunes just wouldn’t have made the cut on his earlier albums. The playing by his backing band seems unusually bland, something that could never be said about the crackling ’70s West Coast musicians who found nuances in the spaces between the words to assert their personalities.
