The Cutting Edge has posted a review of Hotel California: The True Life Adventures of Crosby, Stills, Nash, Young, Mitchell, Taylor, Browne, Ronstadt, Geffen, the Eagles, and Their Many Friends by Barney Hoskyns. Yeegads, way to put the index on the cover, Barney.
This book came out in 2006, but I hadn’t heard of it until I saw this review. Since it seems to cover Joni Mitchell, James Taylor and Jackson Browne to some degree, I’ll have to track it down. The Cutting Edge seems to think it was pretty good:
[E]steemed music historian Barney Hoskyns provides an intelligent, engaging chronicle of the “singer-songwriters and cocaine cowboys” of the Los Angeles canyons, circa 1967-76.
