Ottawa Citizen doesn’t like Covers

The Ottawa Citizen published a review of James Taylor’s new album Covers today. The author has a list of songs that he thinks James should’ve covered instead, which results in him embarrassing himself by not knowing James Taylor wrote “Bartender’s Blues” and in fact already recorded it for his big 1977 album JT. His other song suggestions are a bit on the obscure side, as well. Probably the oddest review of the album so far, but does end with a growing consensus: James needs to release an album of all-original material.
