Music For Monday

Hey look! New regular feature! I’ll try to kick off each week with an interactive thread to which you the reader can respond. To suggest a topic for a future Music For Monday, email me.

This week: Name 5 songs about money and/or Wall Street. [Inspiration]

Post your answers in the comments section.

Your answers don’t necessarily have to be by the six singer-songwriters regularly covered here (James Taylor, Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Carly Simon, Cat Stevens, Jackson Browne), but it would be good to have at least one answer that falls into that category.

    OK, I’ll get this started:

    1. Share the End – Carly Simon
(For some reason, this song has always made me think of a scene from a movie about the Great Depression, when business men were jumping out of windows and Wall Street thought it was the end of the world.)
    2. Money Machine – James Taylor
    3. It’s Money That I Love – Randy Newman
    4. Dog Eat Dog – Joni Mitchell
    5. The Pretender – Jackson Browne
