Billboard.com posted an interview with James Taylor today, where he talked about writing a new album of original material. He also revealed that the upcoming album would either be his last or second to last, and that he’s recently taken an increased role in managing his career.
“I’ve got a start. I have songs in various stages of completion I need to go back and finish. This year coming up I intend to finish it.
The article also goes over plans for upcoming promotional appearances for Covers (to be released September 30), including news of appearances on The Colbert Report, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Tavis Smiley, Charlie Rose, Spectacle: Elvis Costello with…, and an in-store appearance at Borders in Ann Arbor, Michigan on October 2; and also goes into more long term plans, such as an album with orchestral accompaniment and a series of guitar lessons.
