Many of my friends went through experiences echoing those of these three women… And it wasn’t easy for them. They were smart, ambitious and driven by the need to express themselves artistically, and not many men of the era could deal easily with that. I love the way Sheila Weller keeps abreast of the shifts in the cultural narrative, showing the way women saw themselves in the 60s, 70s and 80s.
